Tubes for
Volatile Organic Sampling Trains (VOST)

For sampling of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and volatile principal organic hazardous constituents (POHCs) from stationary emission sources, including hazardous waste incinerators, EPA method 0031 uses a Volatile Organic Sampling Train or VOST sampler.

Method 0031 calls for three sorbent tubes:

  • One Anasorb 747 sorbent tube (SKC Sorbent tube 226-133)
  • Two Tenax sorbent tubes (SKC Sorbent tube 226-134)

Because of their low background levels, these specified sorbents are useful for collecting low concentrations of VOCs.

VOST tubes from SKC are tested for background and pressure drop and come complete with stainless steel swagelok fittings and Teflon ferrules. The tubes may be reused after conditioning with an inert gas. In addition to the VOST tubes listed below, SKC will manufacture VOST tubes with different sorbents to meet your special applications. Contact your SKC representative for more information.

VOST tubes must be conditioned prior to use, and used and analyzed within 14 days of conditioning.

Note: VOST tubes must be conditioned prior to use; use and analyze within 14 days of conditioning.

Note: EPA methods allow some flexibility accommodating similar sampling protocols, however, such flexibility places documentation responsibility on the user. For a detailed explanation, refer to the method.
