Temperature STICK Product Data Bulletin (PDF)
The most monitored indoor air quality factor is temperature.
Different applications call for different methods of measuring
temperature. With that in mind, SKC offers two types of low-cost,
easy-to-use mini-thermometers for penetration and surface
temperature measurements.

Temperature STICK - Surface
A professional instrument at an economical price, this surface
mini-thermometer guarantees very quick reaction time and high accuracy
levels when measuring temperatures directly from a surface. With
a measuring range from -58 to +660 F (short-term to +930 F), the
Surface Temperature STICK features a spring-loaded thermocouple that
adapts itself to every type of surface for accurate measurements.
The unit features a patented swivel head for easy monitoring of readings.
Temperature STICK - Penetration
One of the fastest and most accurate mini-thermometers available,
this industrial probe type K thermocouple provides a wide measuring
range from -60 to +660 F (1 to 2 min up to +900 F). The sensor is
located directly in the measuring tip for reliably fast measurements.
A patented swivel head facilitates easy viewing of readings from
any angle. Use for fast temperature measurements of air, liquids,
and in soft or powdery materials.
Choosing a Temperature Measuring Instrument
The method of temperature measurement is dependent on the application. Consider
the following items when selecting a particular method of temperature measurement:
- Design of instrument
- Measuring range
- Instrument accuracy
- Price
- Response time
- Drift
Typically, thermocouple probes provide fast measurements, have wide
measuring ranges, and are less expensive. The more accurate, but slower
resistance and NTC-type probes tend to be more expensive. Choosing
an instrument with a wide measuring range will provide for the most
versatility.
