About Integrating Sound Level Meters
Integrating sound level meters such as the Quest 2900, 2800, and 2200
calculate an "Leq" and an "Lav." This is a "running
average" of the sound pressure level (SPL) during the sampling period.
This provides a more realistic measurement of noise than just SPL alone.
Quest noise dosimeters are also "integrating" and provide Leq
and Lav readings.
