Bulk Sorbents
SKC bulk sorbent materials meet stringent specifications for environmental applications and undergo extensive cleaning procedures to assure low backgrounds. A wide range of sorbents are available.
Drying Tubes Drying Tubes
For sampling moisture-sensitive compounds, SKC offers a pre-drying tube. The sorbent (sodium sulfate) removes moisture while other chemicals in the airstream pass through unaffected.
Formaldehyde Sampling Tubes
SKC sorbent sample tubes meet the specifications of EPA Method TO-11A and ASTM Method D 5197 for the determination of formaldehyde (and other aldehyde) concentrations in ambient air without the incompatibility and breakthrough problems of the cartridges specified in EPA TO-11 and EPA IP6A.
Hydrogen Sulfide and Sulfur Dioxide Tubes
This SKC sorbent tube is designed to meet the specifications of OSHA Method 1008 for hydrogen sulfide and OSHA Method 1011 for Sulfur Dioxide.
OSHA Versatile Sampler (OVS) Tubes
The unique construction of this versatile tube allows for the simultaneous collection of aerosols and vapors. Originally designed by OSHA to overcome some of the inconveniences of earlier methods, it is often referred to as the OSHA Versatile Sampler (OVS). This specially designed glass tube contains a filter to trap aerosols and a two-section sorbent bed to adsorb vapors.
High Volume PUF (Polyurethane Foam) Tubes
Designed to meet EPA and ASTM method specifications for high flow sampling of organochloride pesticides, PCBs, and PAHs in ambient air. Use with flows from 200 to 280 L/min.
Low Volume PUF (Polyurethane Foam) Low Volume Tubes
Designed to meet EPA and ASTM indoor and ambient air sampling methods for pesticides in homes, public buildings, and offices. Use with flows from 1 to 5 L/min.

Thermal Desorption Tubes
Suitable for EPA to-17 Sampling of VOCs. SKC sorbent technology research has produced superior materials for the collection of organic compounds for thermal desorption. Thermal desorption techniques offer the advantage of greatly improved analytical sensitivity. Because a solvent is not used, the collected sample is not diluted and, in most cases, analytical recovery is so close to 100% that desorption efficiency corrections are not required
Treated Sorbent Tubes
SKC offers a complete line of sample tubes with sorbents that have been washed, coated, or treated in a special way to better collect specific chemical hazards. For many airborne chemicals, these sorbents provide a suitable sampling alternative to wet chemistry methods using impingers. SKC provides treated sorbent sample tubes to meet published NIOSH and OSHA methods along with methods published by leading researchers.
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) Tubes Tubes for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
VOCs include hydrocarbons, oxygenated hydrocarbons, and organic compounds containing nitrogen or sulfur. VOCs are emitted from a variety of industrial and commercial facilities into the atmosphere and pose a potential health hazard to industrial workers in particular and the public in general. SKC manufactures VOC sample tubes to meet published EPA air sampling methods.
Tubes for Volatile Organic Sampling Trains (VOST)
For sampling of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and volatile principal organic hazardous constituents (POHCs) from stationary emission sources, including hazardous waste incinerators, EPA method 0031 uses a Volatile Organic Sampling Train or VOST sampler.
