SKC Inc. is expanding its commitment to professional education with the launch of regional Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene (FIH) training sessions, aimed at equipping safety and health professionals with core knowledge in identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards. The first session will take place in Texas on June 17, with plans to offer additional courses in other regions later this year.
FIH is a full-day, hands-on course led by Dusty Ott, CIH, SKC’s Corporate Industrial Hygienist, and Mark McFeely, SKC Technical Services Manager – Instruments. Together, they bring decades of experience in industrial hygiene practice and instrumentation to deliver practical, easy-to-understand training for professionals at any stage of their career.
“Industrial hygiene plays a vital role in keeping workers safe,” said Ott. “We designed this course to make the fundamentals approachable and actionable, especially for those newer to the field or looking for a refresher.”

FIH training is ideal for:
- New or early-career industrial hygienists
- IH technicians and safety professionals
- Occupational health and safety (OHS) students
