Carpet Sampling Kit Overview

Carpet Sampling Cassette Kit includes 10 each: micro-vacuum cassettes Cat. No. 225-9542, disposable 10 x 10-cm templates, Luer adapters, zip bags, and labels
Requires pump capable of greater than 10 L/min

Microvacuum Cassettes provide efficient collection of asbestos and fungal spores from irregular surfaces/carpeting and other dusty places. SKC Microvacuum Cassettes feature a microvacuum nozzle and are available with a polycarbonate filter for sampling fungal spores or MCE filter for sampling asbestos in settled dust on surfaces (as specified in ASTM Method D5755). Microvacuum Cassettes are available separately or in a convenient Carpet Sampling Kit that also includes sampling accessories.

Efficient Collection of Asbestos or Fungal Spores

Collect fungal spores or asbestos from carpets and other dusty areas using SKC Microvacuum Cassettes. SKC Microvacuum Cassettes are available with an MCE filter for sampling asbestos in settled dust on surfaces specified in ASTM Method D5755 or with polycarbonate filter for sampling fungal spores from carpeting or other surfaces. Guidelines for Microvacuum Samples from Carpet

    • Normal/Clean: < 5000 CFU/1000 cm2 or < 50,000 CFU/gram with dominant fungi being outdoor species

 

    • Borderline: 25,000 CFU/1000 cm2 or 200,000 CFU/gram with dominant fungi being outdoor species

 

    • Elevated: 75,000 CFU/1000 cm2 or 1,000,000 CFU/gram with dominant fungi being outdoor and indoor species

 

  • Fungal Infested: > 75,000 CFU/1000 cm2 or > 1,000,000 CFU/gram with dominant fungi being indicator and outdoor species
